Dig Day at Rother Valley

Rother Valley Country Park has strong roots in the Sheffield mountain bike scene. It was one of the venues that Beighton All Terrain Squad (BATS) used to hold their races and was the first place that Steve Peat ever raced.There has always been a bit mountain biking at Rother Valley, but the park is now starting to try to develop a proper network of trails up there. With the first of their dig days being held next weekend on Saturday the 28th of July.

Below is all the information from Nick Howath who is heading up the scheme….

“I’m still trail building at the park, we have a few sections now done, but have plans for lots more and the go ahead to do so. But there’s only me building so things are moving slowly. We now also have a digger. What we need is help, so we’re having a dig day, Saturday 28th July, from 10am, sorted lunch for all who come. So if you have a spade and ideas, please consider it.
