After over 18 months without a public trail day, it gives us great pleasure to announce that we’re back and this first one is going to be a really big one too!
On Saturday the 23rd October we will be having a super-sized trail day up at Lady Cannings .
Working on Blue Steel, the plan is to rework the most tired sections of the trail, smooth out the rougher sections to keep it on grade and to start to reshape the berms to return that roller coaster feel.
Our first trail day of the year will be on Fox Hagg this coming Saturday the 26th of January.
We will be meeting in the carpark by Rivelin Dams at 10 am and will be out on the trails for approximately 2-3 hrs. The trails are running pretty well, but we want to make sure they are ready for the full onslaught of winter kick is. We will be un-blocking drainage and making sure that the water stays off the trails
We will provide lunch and snacks to keep your energy levels well stocked up provided by our trail day sponsors Bike-Track

Upcoming Trail Days
Well its our last trail day of the year and we thought it would be a good idea to have a festive special up in Lady Cannings this coming Saturday the 8th of December.
We will be meeting in the carpark on SheepHill Road at 10 am and will be out on the trails for approximately 2-3 hrs. The trails are running pretty well, but we want to make sure they are ready for the full onslaught of winter kick is. We will be clearing leaf litter, un-blocking drainage, patching the trail and promoting the flow on both trails.
As its Christmas, we will have some delicious mince piece to keep your energy levels well stocked up and our trail day sponsors Bike-Track have kindly agreed to buy you all a mulled wine or a pint (or whatever is your preference) in the Norfolk Arms after the work is completed. (more…)
Blacka has always been a bit of a November favourite for us, it’s always good to get the trails ready for the winter so they give us some more sustainable riding in the winter and come out looking and riding sweetly in the spring.
Our volunteers have been out on a few midweek sessions recently (give us an email if you fancy being part of the midweek crew), but there’s still lots to do up there.
After a little break from our weekend trails day because, well its been rather dry and the trails are in great shape, which means more riding and less trail work.
But after a bit of a late start this year the vegetation has started to grow back a little, making some stretched of Lady Cannings delightful singletrack a little too narrow and single. So its time for a bit of a trim not to mention al bit of general TLC.
We will up at Lady Cannings on Tuesday the 26th of June, meeting in the car park at 6pm and carrying on until about 9 ish, followed by refreshments in the Norfolk arms afterwards. Hopefully we will be rewarded with a beautiful midsummers evening and enough of a breeze to keep the midges at bay! (more…)
After a great summers riding, it is time to start looking towards making sure things are looking in good shape moving into winter, so we are back into trail day season. we will be starting off up at Lady Cannings this Saturday the 8th at 10am
While it has weathered amazingly well, there are a few jobs that we would like to get done to keep its running prime. Nothing to taxing, just a little raking, and patching (barrowing and spade work) but the more people that turn up the more that we should be able to get done. (more…)
This months trail day will be in Lady Cannings on Sunday the 6th of March. After the temporary closures of the trail because of the logging work and then due to the record levels of rain this winter, we are just about ready to re open the trail. All that is needed is to give the trail a bit of a tidy up and it will be ready to go. So on Sunday we will be after people to come along and move the logs off the trail, clear up the windblown debris and to make sure the trail corridor is still looking good and then it will be all sweet and ready to take riders again.
The trail will be formally checked on Monday, so please do not ride it until Monday evening. But beyond that enjoy getting reacquainted. (more…)
This months trail day will be in Greno Woods on Saturday the 6th. While most of the trails are running pretty well at the moment, there are a few areas that could do with a little tlc to improve drainage etc. We are still waiting on the contractors who did the felling to tidy up the last bit of their work, but as it is too wet for machinery to go in there currently we are just going to have to wait. So there may well be another Greno Trail Day soon. As well as a couple of evening in the run up to the soon to be announced Peaty’s Steel City DH. (more…)
With the wettest month on record now behind us, we thought it would be good to get out and give the trails a little tlc. Our work this month is pretty much dictated by the weather, as we are wing for the ground to settle before the contractors can neater up the work in Greno and in Lady Cannings we are waiting for the water table to drop as well as the new start to be constructed. So we will see work up at Greno in the next couple of months. (more…)
