  • Winter Social – 26th November 2018

    The Winter Social has long been a part of the fabric of Ride Sheffield, it’s a great chance for us to tell you what we have been up-to and what we have planned for the coming year and more importantly, getting your thoughts and feedback on the direction we should be going in. But is also a good opportunity to catch up with friends, have a couple of beers and chat bikes, not to mention win great prizes in the quiz and raffle too.

    This year will be our 9th winter social (maybe we need a big party for our 10th birthday next year) and we have been trying to keep things fresh and interesting for you, to make it as enjoyable as possible. So what can you expect this year….? (more…)

  • Winter Social VII

    Happy mountain bikers!

    I can’t believe it! Seven Winter Socials? Have we really been going that long?
    Once again Ride Sheffield was lucky enough to have a crowd of enthusiastic mountain bikers turn out to hear the latest news, drink fine Sheffield beers, grab some great raffle prizes and prove that they’re sad bike nerds in the quiz.

    As usual, we were fortunate enough to have a lot of our greatest supporters in the room including John Dallow from SCC, Danny Udall from the Eastern Moors Partnership, Roy Mosley from Sheffield Wildlife Trust and Mike Sanderson from GoOutdoors. Without these guys, the Sheffield mountain biking community wouldn’t have made the enormous progress it has over the last seven years. (more…)

  • Ride Sheffield Winter Social Goes Down A Storm

    The Ride Sheffield Winter Social at a new venue and the weather decides to come over all biblical. Will anyone turn up?

    I guess we really should have more faith. The Sheffield mountain biking community isn’t going to be put off by head high floods on Abbeydale Road, they love a challenge. So much so that something like a hundred hardy souls made it to The Holt which, thankfully, catered admirably to the gently steaming horde as they dried out prior to the meeting proper.

    Fortified with chilli and a refreshing pint of Magic Rock, everyone tuned in as Henry Norman outlined just how much Ride Sheffield volunteers have achieved in the last year and big plans for the future. (more…)

  • All you need to know about the Winter Social

    Ride-Sheffield-SocialIts our winter social next Monday the 21st of November, so we thought it was about time to fill you in on a few of the key details for the night. It will be out 6th winter social and traditionally we have always held it in the Lescar, but it has seemed a bit too cramped for the past couple of years, so we will be holding this years event at The Holt, which is a new cafe and creative space in Sheffield. It is in town, so hopefully it will be a bit easier for everyone to get to. If you were wondering “Where is it?“, directions can be found here, but basically it is on Arundel Street, just behind Decathlon. (more…)

  • Ride Sheffield Winter Social and 5th Birthday

    This coming Monday the 30th of November we will be gathering together in the back room of the Lescar for our annual social. This time it will be that little bit more special as we are celibrating five years of Ride Sheffield and thanks to the Adventure Cafe in Hope we will even have a cake to celebrate with!

    There are a couple of changes to previous years, firstly it will include the formalities of our AGM that used to happen in the summer (don’t worry we are hoping that this bit should only take about five minutes).

    Perhaps more excitingly; as we are celebrating five years of Ride Sheffield. It seems like a good chance to reflect on what we have achieved in the past five years. But we dont want to indulge ourselves too much; More importantly is that we want you to shape what we will do over the next five years. (more…)

  • Ride Sheffield Winter Social – Update

    Ride-Sheffield-SocialTime is rolling itself round to the end of another year, which can only mean that we are approaching this years Ride Sheffield Winter Social. So on Monday the 24th of November we will be taking to our usual venue of the Lescar on Sharrowvale Road, to chat about what we have been up to over the past year; but more importantly for you to tell us what you would like us to be focusing on next year.
