Blacka Trail Day this Saturday

Digging, News Update

The Wildlife Trust are going to be up on Blacka this Saturday doing some maintainance to the bridleways up there – carrying out some repairs on the winter damaged Bridleways. After the great work that has been done by you lot over the past few trail days they are keen to get us on board again.

If you’re free this Saturday and want to give a little back, here is all the information you need from the Wildlife Trust….

Hi Guys

I would like to invite you and your friends at Bike Sheffield to our next community workday at Blacka moor. It will take place on Saturday 14th April; 10am – 3pm (please note that it is a week later, due to the 7th falling on the bank holiday weekend).  We’ll also be returning to our normal meeting place, the Stony Ridge car park, grid reference: SK 277 806.  This map shows the exact location of the car park, where we will be meeting at 10am.

I will be running the work day, and we will be repairing the surface on a section of bridleway/cycle path as well as re-establishing some drains and ditches. We have had a large amount of stone delivered for the works and we need the help barrowing it to the location. We hope that with enough people the work could be done in a day!

If you’d like further directions, or any more information about the workday, please do get in touch.

If you’re interested in joining us for the work day, please remember to bring suitable outdoor clothes, waterproofs, sturdy boots, a packed lunch and drinking water; please also reply to this e-mail so that we can get a rough idea of numbers and how many tools/gloves/biscuits we’ll need to bring.
