  • No Balls Biking

    No Balls Biking is a new women’s only MTB group that has been set up in Sheffield, by  riders who have been inspired by women’s only events such as Stilettos on Wheel and want to create a similar vibe for just general riding.

    No Balls Biking is a new group for women interested in biking.The idea with this group is to involve all types of rider from beginner to gnarly pinner in all types of cycling whether it is long distance XC or family leisure rides but in an all women environment (safety in numbers) with no pressure to keep up, go fast or attempt crazy speeds or tech. Hopefully there will be regular rides, social meets and more involvement within the Sheffield riding community when it comes to trail maintenance, road safety and dig days.   • Mountain Biking at Parkwood Springs

    As one of Sheffield’s worst kept secrets, you have probably already heard that MTB circuit up at Parkwood has pretty much been completed now and pretty awesome it looks too. After lots of hard work for Sheffield City Councils Jon Dallow and Bike Tracks, official opening pegged for the end of September, you don’t have long before you can go and ride it.

    While the track looks pretty much competed, the work is still ongoing with tweaks and finishing touches being put in currently. To make sure that the track stays in its very best state for as long as possible, please do not go and ride the track as it needs adequate time to bed in, also sections of the trail have not had their second whakering either. It also means that there is heavy plant on the site most days.   • Biking at Cliffhanger – Details

    As we mention last week there will be a full program of biking events at this years Cliffhanger event in Graves Park.including cycle speedway, Rollapaluza, Trials Display, Timber Trail, and the Shopper World Cup. You  should be able to get involved and have a go with most of these and they will be running all day on both days. But here are some details of a couple of the events you would like to get involved with on the Saturday….

  • Blacka Dig Days

    After last years successful work on the Devils Elbow Bridleway on Blacka, the Wildlife Trust has some more bits of work planned to improve a couple of spots of drainage and fill in a couple of sections that got missed out or have work away since the initial work.

  • Cliffhanger = Bike Heaven

    Sheffield continues to stake its claim to be the (un)official outdoors capital of the country and helping with that is the Cliffhanger Festival. Now in its fifth incarnation it has continued to realise that mountain bikers and cyclists make up a big part of the outdoors community and is offering its biggest bike programme so far.

  • M Holland Servicing

    While the calendars might be saying mid June, trail conditions can seem a bit mid January at the moment which means that our bike parts seem to have taken a bit of a hammering at the moment. If you’re a bit of a lazy mechanic or don’t want to faff around posting your forks off, there is now another option in Sheffield: mhollandserving.
