RADmires needs your help!
Thanks to everyone’s efforts, the RADmires fund is doing well! The Winter Social back in December was a tremendous success raising £1800 in one night and since then donations via Paypal and bank transfer have continued at a steady pace. We’ve also received a big boost with a major contribution from Cotic bikes swelling the coffers by over £2000. (more…) -
Peaty’s Steel City DH entries auction for RADmires
You may have been thinking that you have missed your chance to race at Peaty’s Steel City DH for another year. With some categories oversubscribed by four times the amount of places that were available you would be pretty lucky to get into the event. But this year we are able to offer three people the chance to get a place in the race after the ballot. (more…) -
April Trail Days – Greno
For this months trail days we will be doing things a little differently. Now that everywhere is drying out nicely, we can turn our attention to fine tuning! To make sure that the trails in Greno are running sweetly for Peaty’s Steel City DH, we will be holding a couple of evening trail sessions. We will be up on the trail on April the 4th and 11th and will aim to start at 5.30pm and work for a couple of hours or until the light fades. We will meet in the car park, but will be easy to find on the trail for those who cannot get up there until later. We will work predominantly on the Steel City track, but may do a little on the other ones if time allows. (more…)

Keep Singletrack Single….

Keep singletrack single and keep smiling! Can you feel it? There’s more than a hint of spring in the air. Those eternal optimists the weather forecasters reckon things are looking up, there are snowdrops and daffodils everywhere and before you know it, the trails will be snuff dry and running sweet. March Trail Day – Lady Cannings
This months trail day will be in Lady Cannings on Sunday the 6th of March. After the temporary closures of the trail because of the logging work and then due to the record levels of rain this winter, we are just about ready to re open the trail. All that is needed is to give the trail a bit of a tidy up and it will be ready to go. So on Sunday we will be after people to come along and move the logs off the trail, clear up the windblown debris and to make sure the trail corridor is still looking good and then it will be all sweet and ready to take riders again. The trail will be formally checked on Monday, so please do not ride it until Monday evening. But beyond that enjoy getting reacquainted. (more…)

Ride with Peaty for RADmires
As part of the RADmires fund raising we’re offering two really cool experiences for people to get involved with.Firstly, Ride With Peaty at RADmires. We are offering 10 lucky people the chance to ride with Steve and be the first riders outside of the project team to ride the RADmires trail. Each rider will meet Steve, ride around the Stanage and RADmires area, and probably get in a cheeky pint afterwards. They also get a signed Ride Sheffield T Shirt made out to them from the man himself. All this for just £200 per rider, and the warm glow of knowing you have helped make an awesome trail happen. Its back, bigger better and quite possibly more baltic than ever before!
While it may currently be rather freezing outside; a sure sign that spring must just be around the corner is the welcome appearance of Sheffield’s much-loved adventure film festival SHAFF.
Blessed as we are by hills and cyclists, it’s a wonder that no one has come up with this idea before. Take seven (road) hills in Sheffield, sort out a route between each one and organise an escort for the riders to give them a hassle free route, then at the base of each hill unleash a mass start hill climb with points going to the top 10 riders. Then repeat another 6 times until you find the winner. Sort of an upside down roadie enduro with perhaps a little more suffering.
