Polaris Pit Stops in the Peaks

Polaris Bikewear are proud to launch its Polaris Pit Stop cafe scheme this winter in the Peak District to celebrate 25 years of business .
The Peak District is often voted as one of the best cycling locations and it won’t come as a surprise to many riders that the Monsal trail was recently voted the UK’s finest cycling route. However sometimes ,especially in the winter months, riders can need to make unexpected road side repairs. The Polaris Pit Stop Scheme provides a box that contains the key elements needed to get you back out on your bike.
“Everyone knows that the cycling routes in the Peak District are some of the best in the UK, if not the World. We are proud to be part of the cycling community in the Peaks and are aware nothing ruins hitting the trails or roads in the Peaks more than an unforeseeable bike repair; this is where the Polaris Pit Stop scheme steps in” said Roger Dillon, Managing Director, Polaris Bikewear.
Polaris has launched the initial scheme in six of the most popular riding destinations in the Peak District. So far the Polaris Pit Stop boxes are located at Bank View Cafe-Langsett , Norfolk Arms – Ringinglow, Eyam Tea Rooms – Eyam, Penny Pot Cafe – Edale, Palmers Cafe – Calver and Longshaw Cafe on the Longshaw Estate.
The boxes contain the essentials to get you through any unforeseen situation that could interrupt your ride. From spare tubes to cables, split links to cable ties, lube and tools the Pit Stop kit is a great little box of tricks to keep you on the road and trails. There is a small charge for the parts, with all profits going straight to the Peak District regional Mountain Rescue team, that provide life saving vital support when the worst happens.
One of the Cafes keen to be involved in the scheme were Bank View Cafe in Langsett.
“Every cyclist knows there’s nothing that ruins your day more then being stranded halfway round your ride with a mechanical that you’re not prepared for! There is really nothing sadder than the sight of a miserable cyclist watching their mates ride off while they sit hunched over yet another cuppa waiting for their other half to turn up with the car!
We get loads of cyclists coming through our doors and its fantastic to be able to provide yet another service to them. Hopefully we’ll be able to sort out any problems and get them back on the road in the time it takes to drink a cup of tea!” said Pete Sparks, Owner, Bank View Cafe.
