With the help of local riders and businesses, Ride Sheffield have raised all the money required to build a red graded trail in Redmires plantation in the Peak District. Enormous effort has gone into satisfying the various demands placed on us by the Peak District National Park and other user groups. The first attempt at gaining planning permission has, however, been placed on hold. Here’s the story….

  • Winter Social – 26th November 2018

The Winter Social has long been a part of the fabric of Ride Sheffield, it’s a great chance for us to tell you what we have been up-to and what we have planned for the coming year and more importantly, getting your thoughts and feedback on the direction we should be going in. But is also a good opportunity to catch up with friends, have a couple of beers and chat bikes, not to mention win great prizes in the quiz and raffle too.

This year will be our 9th winter social (maybe we need a big party for our 10th birthday next year) and we have been trying to keep things fresh and interesting for you, to make it as enjoyable as possible. So what can you expect this year….? (more…)

Blacka has always been a bit of a November favourite for us, it’s always good to get the trails ready for the winter so they give us some more sustainable riding in the winter and come out looking and riding sweetly in the spring.

Our volunteers have been out on a few midweek sessions recently (give us an email if you fancy being part of the midweek crew), but there’s still lots to do up there.

  • Winter trails – where to ride when conditions get bad!

Ride Sheffield volunteers have been working hard to prepare the trails for the winter….

Having had a summer California would be proud of, it’s difficult to make the transition to a winter mindset. That nagging sense of doubt has yet to infiltrate your mind – will the weather catch me out? What to wear, where to go, what tyres? (more…)
